| Scope of Work |
You will be responsible for translating public relations and marketing materials for various companies and organizations.
Translation in the marketing field requires: ・A deep and nuanced understanding of both the source and target languages ・The ability to craft compelling, audience-appropriate text tailored to its intended use For these reasons, this role is not suitable for individuals still in the early stages of developing their translation skills. Experienced candidates are especially welcome, including: ・Translators with experience in PR or marketing (any industry) ・Individuals with writing or rewriting experience in PR/communications departments, as well as journalists, editors, or other writing professionals ・Translators with experience in audiovisual translation (subtitles, narration, etc.) Examples of Documents ・Corporate PR and marketing materials (press releases, internal newsletters, CSR reports, presentation/training materials, meeting documents, video subtitles, websites, blogs, etc.) ・Product catalogs and event-related promotional materials ・Inbound-focused materials (tourism brochures, websites) ・Entertainment-related web content (e.g., games, film industry) Reference: For more information on translation in the marketing field, please refer to the “Public Relations & Marketing Translation” section on our job overview page. |
| Requirements |
Required:
・Professional translation experience ・Ability to produce polished, well-crafted text suitable for advertising and marketing purposes ・You must have a Windows PC (tablets are not acceptable) Preferred: ・Strong familiarity with culture, business practices, and trends ・Excellent research skills, including the ability to understand the background of terminology and content ・Experience in audiovisual translation, rewriting, or copywriting ・Experience as a writer, journalist (any media), editor, proofreader, or QA specialist ・For Japanese-to-English translators: -Native-level English proficiency -Business-level Japanese proficiency -Native check/editing experience is a plus ・Experience using translation support tools (Phrase TMS, Trados), or willingness to learn and use such tools |
